Clearance #312 is one of sixty six-ball layouts on this site. The white starts on the head spot and you may take the balls in any order; what counts is the number of shots, with each foul adding one.
No ball lies within 35 cm of a pocket. Expect long pots from the start and give yourself room for error by playing the safest one first.
No two balls are touching, so every ball can be played on its own.
Playing with no aiming error, our Expert computer cleared this layout in 13 shots, potting in the order 3 → 4 → 6 → 5 → 1 → 2. 7 of its shots potted nothing: they were position or safety shots to set up an easier pot.
Treat the awkward balls first. Moving a rail ball or splitting a pair while you still have easy balls left is cheaper than facing it last with nothing to fall back on.
